The question «what do I need for my high-grade growth?» raises up sooner or later in a life of every young sportsman. This becomes particularly important at the turn of 14-16 years when it’s time to think about transition from junior to the senior bandy. Definitely in this age lies hided the first major watershed dividing amateur attitide of trying to enter the next so called second level where the way in to the big professional sport is opened.

Right just by the end of the 9th grade of school an alternative of what to do next comes on the agenda. Go on learning to enter university for making civil, military or whatever else career? Or still continue on your favorite bandy? Or to put everything at stake in trying to use your only chance to become a professional bandy player?

No more headbreak henceforth since there is an opportunity in the world to continue engaging in your favorite passion while still studying in parallel to acquire a working profession or prepare for a higher educational upgrade. Gymnasium gives you a chance to remain in the sport for a few years more. Rather the bandygymnasium as long as we talk on bandy and Sweden.

Swedish educational system today is tightly connected to the sport. It’s by virtue of national traditions and preferences of all population’s layers, but youngsters definitely at first, to hold on healthy lifestyle and regular sport activities. So there is nothing surprising in fact that education and sport go on the same path in a young student’s life until the age of 19 without putting him on the edge of a painful choice.

As a rule bandygymnasium has tied closely to a bandy club particularly on its junior and youth teams. This is one of the most important conditions that attract young and talented players. Everyone who has chosen specialization in bandy wants no only stay in the sport — it’s no surprise at all today — but one wants to play on the highest elite level with no matter of junior whether youth it is. This is a key motivation for a gymnasium-entrant to put his choice on a certain bandygymnasium.

Only a bandy club that has set the highest goals and plays regularly on a high elite level attracts the most talented bandy players to make their choice on it. But not only this however. Any team even if being composed of the cream of boy’s age group can achieve little if it has no coach staff of the highest caliber and well adjusted infrastructure behind.

In a regular life bandygymnasium is not a separate and abstracted from the daily routine social establishment. Bandygymnasists are as all the other students as well cracking granite of science on a common basis. But unlike most of their peers they are provided with bandy practice in their curricula. Therefore a class-room where bandy science is taught is a stadium where bandy coaches replace their colleagues in mathematics, biology or natural science during hours schedulled for trainings. Bandygymnasium thus supplements basic process carried out directly in the club’s team giving over extra training capacity to the regular work done together.

The rhythm of bandy life in Sweden is stable enough and still improving year by year. Throughout the season in general trainings are in the weeks and games in the weekends. Learn, train and play enjoying! A junior bandygymnasist plays for a season 40-50 but often even much more games in average. In addition to the main championship of Sweden there are a lot of pre-seasonal and seasonal tournaments spent overall. That makes swedish youth to grow in their skills like upon leavens. Mostly every master team in Elitserien today, apart from Allsvenskan, has plugged in a scattering of bandygymnasists from 16 to 19 years.

So the question «where to go learning?» is not arised on agenda today. Certainly with no doubt to the bandygymnasium!
